The Energy Efficiency Fund joined the discussion of the latest trends in the energy efficiency sector within the Komuntekh Trade Fair

On October 20, 2021, within the Komuntekh Trade Fair the specialists of the Energy Efficiency Fund took part in a thematic conference during the XIX International Congress “Institutional and Technical Aspects of Housing and Communal Services Reform-2021”.

Conference topic is energy efficiency in Ukraine: opportunities for communities, successful experiences and prospects

The event was attended by Vasyl Lozynsky, First Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, who noted that energy efficiency is one of the biggest challenges for the world and a priority of the Ukrainian Government in the coming years.

"Ukraine has strategic goals to achieve energy security and climate goals on the path to European integration. By reducing energy consumption, we will be able to solve the problem of energy poverty. Our goal is large-scale dissemination of thermal modernization projects of buildings through the program of the Energy Efficiency Fund, as well as attracting investments in utilities and residential buildings, ”Vasyl Lozynskyi emphasized.

Chloe Allio, Head of Section "Economic Cooperation, Energy, Infrastructure and Environment” of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, stressed that this panel discussion on energy efficiency in Ukraine is very relevant, first of all because the heating season will start soon for many EU countries, including Ukraine.

"The main topic on the agenda today is strengthening the" green "potential together. Indeed, the relationship between Ukraine and the EU runs through the European Green Deal, which is a roadmap for measures to transform the European Union into an efficient, sustainable and competitive economy. This year, Ukraine has made strong strides in improving energy efficiency in the housing sector, which is very important not only to meet the goals of the European Green Deal, but also to achieve energy independence, "said Chloe Allio.

In turn, Yegor Fareniuk, Acting Director of the Energy Efficiency Fund, presented to the participants the opportunities and benefits of the Energodim program, as well as implemented projects in high-rise buildings under the Energodim program from different regions of Ukraine.

In the country's energy balance, the energy consumption of buildings is one of the most important components. Therefore, mechanisms to stimulate and increase energy efficiency, as well as the implementation of programs to support this sector are very important. This is exactly the Energodim program, which started operating in September 2019. During this time, we have already received 800 applications from condominiums, this year will be completed several dozen comprehensive projects for thermal modernization of residential buildings, "- said Yegor Fareniuk.

In addition, the Acting Director of the Fund presented to the participants the project of reuse “Overhaul (thermal modernization) of a five-storey residential building. Reusable design solutions ”.

The project was developed as a model for designing energy efficiency measures in a five-story building for participants of the Energodim program.
